Global playdate time


On Friday we had a Global play day session. This is me and my friends in our hut that we had just built. After we had built our hut we went in side the hut and played family feud. We did not play family feud the proper way because there weren't enough of us but we played it our way. The way we played it was I read out a questions and Matilda and Sophie had to answer the Quinton and if they got the questions write I would give them the card and bit tend it was money. We had such a fun time it was very much like being at home. While we where playing the game the blankets all flew off so we all quickly got up and fixed them.When we fixed them we tied them to the tables this time so they couldn't fly off.

Janet & Phil Hello this is Janet and Phil and they came to see the Batten team to talk to us about south Sudan. The first thing they told us was that the capital of south Sudan is Juba. One off the cool things they told us was that every day it was 40 - 42 degrees. During the day and at night it was 30-33 degrees. Because it was this hot at night some people would have to have a cold shower in there pyjamas to cool them down, or they had to wet there sheet with cold water then go  back into there beds and put the wet blanket on them to cool them down.

Don: Eel scientist Hello this morning the Batten team listened  to Don who was telling us about ells. The first thing he told us was that shortfin eels like eating crabs. You can tell that a eel has eaten a crab by looking at the bottom of it. When you look at the bottom of it and it is red it means that it has eaten a crab. The second thing was that It takes 7-10 months for a baby eel to get back to New Zealand and it takes 5-6 months for an adult eel to get to Tonga. When an eel is  swimming it can look backwards well swimming fords. These are some of the  interesting  things that we learnt about eels Eels eat little baby ducklings Eels can smell their pray from about 4 meters away. There are 19 species of eels in the world.
